This transition may be the theme of a person's entire life.
A new stage of consciousness comes into play as one sees that one's story can be changed by them. Then, one's life becomes 'in their hands', and they feel a new sense of control.
One may look back on their parent's life and wince, seeking to do better.
The Self-Help Trap
๐ต may stumble upon a self-help book or video, and become interested in self-improvement, which is likely to trigger an ๐ awakening in them: "I can change my own life! I can actually learn stuff that will help me increase the amount of money I make, improve my dating life, etc. all by my own will!". Although self-help is an incredible discovery that does change millions of lives for the better, I'd like to warn the new ๐ of the self-help trap: addiction to consuming self-help content as infotainment, filling one's mind with knowledge, feeling good for a while, but not really doing anything with it. This can go on for years.
A wiser way to use self-help is to get an insight which could really help you with your current goals, then stop watching, reading or listening, and write it down. Spend the next few days with this insight, trying to integrate it as fully as you can.

The Trap of Certainty
Imagine that identity is a liquid- always changing, and takes the shape of it's container: growing up in Afghanistan, you'd be more likely to become a Muslim- growing up in Louisiana, you'd be more likely to become a Christian. At around the age of 16, I began to view identity like this, and foresaw a deep and harrowing trap that had claimed many adults: the gradual hardening of one's identity. The harder it gets, the harder it becomes to change. ๐ discovers that they are able to affect the mould by allowing some space in their identity for positive growth. This is part of the joy of ๐ : every aspect of my life is mine to determine and change- I'm not ruled by a religious book or by what others think of me- I rule myself.
๐ looks at each area of their life and chooses what they want, then they do whatever it takes to make it happen. As they discover that they must change the way they use the mind to go from broke to rich, unattractive to attractive, unsuccessful to successful, etc., they even choose what they want from their mind.
This trap is what's responsible for the belief 'nothing can be done', 'my life will never change'.
Even chronic hopelessness (depression) is certainty. This statement is certainty. Each statement here can be read with healthy skepticism.
Adolescence
In developed countries, it's common for ๐ to emerge in people between the ages of 15 and 22, when they're flying the nest and going out into the big, wide world. Imagine ๐ต parents standing on the driveway waving as their kid goes off to college. The transition from ๐ต to ๐ is, for those with strict parents, a grand adventure from ๐ต totalitarianism (under the thumb of Mum and Dad), to ๐ freedom to establish "who I am in the world". Those with great parents are likely to reach peak ๐ at around 28, then
Think of the classic 'rebellious teens' who bunk off of school together with their middle-fingers up to the ๐ต establishment. On a rather uncomfortable, yet poignant note, many early ๐ people who live in ๐ต-dominated places like schools and sleepy suburbs, bond over the mutual sadness and anger that no one around them inspires them. "All the adults are stifled- not living up to their full potential- and we don't want to be anything like that." As an early ๐ in a ๐ต-dominated place, finding another early ๐ is like finding someone who speaks your language after being lost in a foreign country. It's finding someone who is at a similar place on the path of evolution who they can walk with. Suddenly there is hope of a full-fledged evolution in to ๐ and a strong bond is instantly created. These bonds are so strong because when you're in a ๐ต-dominated place as an early ๐ , it's very easy to slip back into ๐ต, and that's a very scary prospect.
